Kodak 9000 3D Extraoral Imaging System is at the forefront of the dental industry and gives dentists the ability to see any cross section of the tooth or jaw, rather than just the vertical height which is the case with 2D X-rays.
The system is particularly useful for
dental implants as Dr Dhanoya is able to see whether the patient has enough bone for the implant to be fitted into. Before this technology, dentists would have to make an incision into the gum to find out such information.
Rather than send patients for a CT scan at the hospital,
Osborne Dental can now offer this service in the practice, reducing waiting times, using a much lower radiation dose and a three dimensional X-ray that focuses solely on the mouth.
The system is so advanced that
Osborne Dental has developed as a referral centre for other dentists and hospitals in the region that have patients needing a more precise X-ray.
